Going back there was great. Was worried about how I can manage 30 plus students in narrow trails and climbing and how to show them all the interesting things effectively. But I guess one does what you can and what you cannot reach, having loud voice helps.
Had a nice walk, you plunge right into the forest, take a look at the immense towering Shoreas, lianas clambering up for light, the birth of new saplings growing furiously to replace the gap. The view at the belukar trail is great, with a brisk wind running by you and the grass stretching down the slope.
This place actually leads to Diary Farm. But then I guess I have to save this for another trip. Maybe just ask who is keen and just bring a few.
Talked about gap dynamics and briefly on fragmentation. A brief search turned up these.
Fragmentation and species loss –
Thursday will be another trip.
